West Library Tower, Single Model
Glasgow School of Art, 1899
The Glasgow School of Art is justifiably termed the masterwork of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The West Library Tower is startlingly modern despite being designed at the turn of the 20th century. In his design he captures Scotland’s ancient past as well as predicts forms of the future. It is celebrated as a landmark building of international importance, far ahead of its time and of huge influence on the development of modern architecture. The West Library Tower contains the lecture theatre below and two-floored library above. The tower overlooks Glasgow’s famous Sauchiehall Street.
North Front, Single Model, Glasgow School of Art, 1899
The left-hand bay shown is replicated on both the left and right hand sides of the building forming a total of seven large studio rooms. The art school is still in use today. It is a great work showing originality and one of Europe’s buildings in the "modern style". Various devices were repeatedly used by Mackintosh in the building – among them are the Japanese shield designs on the front fence and a projecting ladder spikes from which the window cleaners worked. The building is meticulously detailed. Form and function combine to produce a building which has adapted to a century's use.
The Twin Towers of Wembley, Signed and Dated
The Twin Towers of Wembley, a revered and internationally recognised landmark, have dominated the Wembley skyline for more than 75 years. This "venue of legends" has become synonymous with soccer worldwide. Home of FA cup finals from 1923 and venue for England's triumph in the 1966 world cup final, the stadium was the stage upon which all the game's leading players played over a 77-year period. Of all the stadiums where soccer is played in all the world, the greatest of them all is Wembley - the spiritual home of the beautiful game.

These model bookends have lead and etched brass detail and are sold in association with 'Wembley End of an Era'.
